Low-voltage LED lighting company LumaStream showed A/V integrators a way to “own the ceiling” in lighting technology at CEDIA Expo 2018. Among the solutions on display was a vignette that showed the company’s patented outboarded power supply configuration that is designed to remotely power high-end LED fixtures from a distance of up to 150 feet; this moving of the electronics out of the fixtures (save for the LED arrays themselves) eliminates the need for engaging a high-voltage contractor in the process and also essentially outboards any heat generated.  The company said that its technology is flicker-free and that it provides “faultless dimming.”
